Stress ECG

A stress ECG is an ECG performed under physical activity on a bicycle (ergometer).

It is used to examine the function of the cardiovascular system. Through the ECG, the electrical activities of all heart muscle fibers can be derived and displayed as curves.

A stress ECG is required:

  • for cardiac risk factors (high cholesterol and sugar levels, high blood pressure and stress levels, as well as a family history of heart disease)
  • for clarification of chest complaints and shortness of breath
  • after myocardial infarction
  • after stent insertion and aortocoronary bypass surgery
  • for heart valve diseases
  • for cardiac arrhythmias
  • to determine the physical capacity
  • before and during physical training from the age of 40 onwards

YOUR BENEFITS

By means of the stress ECG, an existing heart disease can be detected at an early stage and treated in time. Incipient high pressure can be detected earlier under stress, without any symptoms having occurred.

At the same time, the success of therapeutic measures can be monitored and the physical capacity can be determined.

The stress ECG thus serves your health: a healthy heart is an important prerequisite for your well-being and performance.
